GREENWOOD, Ind. (WTHR) – One of the last mom-and-pop, local grocers in Greenwood has announced that they will be closing their doors after 45 years.
Hampton's Market was best known in the Center Grove area for it's fresh meat counter and fried chicken.
In a Facebook post, the market said they couldn't compete with big name grocery stores like Walmart, Target and two Kroger locations in the surrounding area.
Hampton's Market is set to close their doors for good on July 29.
Until then, the market is offering 'Stock Up Specials' until their supplies run out. They will not be taking orders after July 22.
"It has been our pleasure to serve the Center Grove and surrounding communities for the past 45 years," wrote Hampton's Market. "Thank you all for allowing our Hampton's family to be part of your lives."
