Cellular outages impacting central Indiana residents

INDIANAPOLIS — A major cellular outage seemingly impacting customers across the United States is causing issues for many in central Indiana Thursday morning.

The website Downdetector, which monitors reported outage among phone and internet service providers, indicated a spike in problems for AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile, among many other carriers.

13News has received messages from several central Indiana residents reporting issues with AT&T's network early Thursday.

In a statement posted on Facebook, the Marshall County Sheriff's Department said AT&T "is having a major nationwide outage at this time." 

The Hancock County 911 Center said it had been alerted that AT&T was having cellular service issues, but later added "the issue has been resolved."
