An award-winning reporter and anchor, Carrie Cline joined the Channel 13 news team as a full-time reporter in February 2013 after freelance reporting for the station for several months.
A graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism, Carrie is a St. Louis native and is thrilled to be back in the Midwest.
She most recently spent 13 years as an Anchor/Reporter for WSAZ-TV in Huntington/Charleston, WV. She also worked as a reporter in Cape Girardeau, MO at KFVS12.
During her career, Carrie has interviewed many notable people, including Oprah Winfrey, Bill Cosby, Amazon Founder and CEO-Jeff Bezos, Bishop TD Jakes, actress Jennifer Garner, chef Jamie Oliver and Vice President Joe Biden. She's covered national stories including the mass school shootings in Paducah, KY and Jonesboro, AR and the making of the movie, 'We Are Marshall', chronicling the 1970 plane crash that killed the Marshall University football team, coaches and supporters.
Carrie also started a feature called, 'Carrie's Kids', highlighting teens up for adoption seeking forever families. Her segments lead to permanent matches and new families for more than a dozen children. She was honored with the KY Adoption Award of Excellence for her efforts. Carrie has also been honored by the WV Broadcasters Association as Best Anchor Team and is the recipient of two OH Public Images Awards of Excellence for stories highlighting people and issues related to developmental disabilities.
Carrie's 12 years in Girl Scouting when she was younger have helped her to develop a lifelong dedication to community service. She was honored by the WV Children's Home Society as Volunteer of the Year. She's also a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc community service sorority.
In her free time, Carrie enjoys running, yoga, weight-lifting, roller-skating, playing soccer, cooking and spending lots of fun time with her husband and their daughter, Gabbie.
