Hike for water, sewer bills approved by Carmel City Council

An analyst told the council the raise is in line with utility bills in surrounding communities.

CARMEL, Ind. — Water and sewer bills are about to go up in Carmel.

City council members approved the hike Dec. 18. For the average home that uses 4,000 gallons of water per month, the bill will rise from $26 per month to $37 per month.

That's an increase of roughly $132 per year.

An analyst told the council the raise is in line with utility bills in surrounding communities.
