SPEEDWAY, Ind. — A car struck a utility pole early Tuesday morning and caught fire right in front of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
The Speedway Fire Department said crews responded to a single-vehicle crash at the intersection of West 16th Street and Polco streets Sept. 3. Fire crews said that's where they found a car crashed into a utility pole.
The driver was treated by medical personnel on scene. Luckily, no injuries were reported.
According to police, there was a delayed extinguishment due to the power lines.
