INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - We're now five days away from the eclipse!
I can't wait! On Monday I'll be going to the path of totality, where it is truly a total eclipse.
I'm heading to Golconda, Illinois with a bunch of Butler students and professors (like 50 of them!) who are super excited about this All American Eclipse.
Butler's Holcomb Observatory is a great place to learn about the sun, stars and astronomical events like the total eclipse.
They have a huge observatory with telescopes, a planetarium and all kinds of ways to see what's out there in the sky.
I talked with Butler astronomy professor Brian Murphy about what they're doing for people who want to learn more about what's happening on Monday.
"We're going to have planetarium shows, telescope viewing if conditions permit, both focusing in on the eclipse," Murphy said. "How to view it, what people can expect and if you're heading to totality this will be really good for you."
"I've seen two of these and I know what to expect. We're going to be giving these shows on what to expect for both partial and totality. All things to look for and how to view this eclipse," he said.
Those Holcomb Observatory shows begin Thursday night. They're also on Friday and Saturday.
Thursday and Friday shows are at 7 and 8pm. The doors open at 6:30. On Saturday, the first show is at 4. Then additional shows begin at 7 and 8.
Tickets for shows cost $5 for adults and $3 for children and students under 18.
You can also buy certified eclipse glasses at the observatory. They cost $2. For more on the eclipse, click here.
