BROWNSBURG, Ind. — Residents in Hendricks County will now have a new park to visit this summer.
The town of Brownsburg hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony Wednesday, May 1 to celebrate the grand opening of Virgil Park.
The 6.7-acre park is located at 9145 E. County Road 300 N., near Ronald Reagan Parkway. Dozens gathered for the ceremony and got a first look at the park.
Amenities at the park include a half-mile trail network with a boardwalk, a picnic shelter, small playground and an exercise area.
The park also serves as a trailhead to the B&O Trail, which runs 8.5 miles through Hendricks County.
The park is named after Hall and Diana Virgil, who helped create the B&O Trail. Hall was there to speak to the crowd before the ribbon cutting and thanked them for their support.
