BROWNSBURG, Ind. — Every year, the Indianapolis Colts select a high school football coach to receive the "Coach of the Year" award and just etched another name into history.
The team selected John Hart from Brownsburg High School as the 2024 Colts High School Coach of the Year.
In the 2024 season, Hart became the first ever head coach in Indiana history to win a state championship at three different high schools.
He took over the Brownsburg football program nine years ago and has led his team to an overall record of 82-19, with the most recent win bringing home the school's first state championship in almost 40 years.
Hart will also be nominated for the NFL's "Don Shula High School Coach of the Year" award, which honors football coaches "who display the integrity, achievement and leadership exemplified by Shula."
Two finalists will be selected and invited to the 2024 Pro Bowl Games and Super Bowl LIX.
The winner of the prestigious award will receive a $10,000 prize and $15,000 grant for their football program.
