Brownsburg - A bomb threat prompted the evacuation of Brownsburg High School Friday morning. Police searched the school but did not find anything suspicious. However, it was a big disruption on the school day.
It happened around 10:15 am. All of the students were evacuated to the football stadium. Medically fragile students were evacuated to handicapped-accessible buses with school nurses.
Police and fire personnel searched the school with a K-9 unit.
Views from Chopper 13 showed the students gathered inside the football stadium. Fire trucks were at the school and police had the entrances to the school blocked.
Because the regular lunch periods were compromised, the BCSC Food Service packed and served sack lunches to students and staff from the north and south concession stands of the football stadium. Students began returning to class around 1:00 p.m. to complete the school day. Dismissal will occur at the usual time.
Brownsburg School Police are continuing their investigation of the bomb threat.
