Bicyclist rushed to hospital after being hit by vehicle on Indy's west side

Police believe the bicyclist was going south on Kevin Way when he swerved into traffic and was hit by a passing vehicle.

INDIANAPOLIS — Police are investigating after a person riding a bicycle was hit by a car on the west side of Indianapolis on Saturday. 

The crash happened at around 1 p.m. near the intersection of Kevin Way and 38th Street. That's near the intersection of 38th Street and Lafayette Road.

Police believe the bicyclist was going south on Kevin Way when he swerved into traffic and was hit by a passing vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle that hit the bicyclist stayed on scene. 

Police said it was a serious bodily injury crash, but haven't shared further details about the bicyclist's condition.
