Authorities release identity of body found in the White River Sunday

First responders have recovered a body from a stretch of the White River near the Indianapolis Zoo Sunday afternoon.

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) – First responders have recovered a body from a stretch of the White River near the Indianapolis Zoo Sunday afternoon.

Crews with IMPD and IFD were called to the 1200 block of West Washington Street just north of the Indianapolis Zoo around 4 p.m. for a dive rescue.

Monday, the Marion County Coroner's Office released the identity of the body found as 36-year-old Theodore Barnett.

At this time, the cause and manner of death is still unknown.
