INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - You'll notice a new series of sculptures going up around the city, and it's the work of Hoosier artist Don Gummer, the husband of actress Meryl Streep.
Gummer is in town this week, overseeing the exhibition called "Back Home Again." He has created eight sculptures, including one placed in Fountain Square.
Gummer attended Ben Davis High School, then Herron School of Art & Design in Indianapolis. He and Meryl Streep have been married for 38 years.
"I appreciate her work as an artist, but I am still so infatuated by art and sculpture to me, we don't really compare and that sort of thing. I'm just happy to spend my time working on sculpture," Gummer said. "It's all art, whether you're an actor or a sculptor."
Gummer's installation will be on display around Indianapolis for the next year.
