Appointments open for blood drive at Lucas Oil Stadium

Donors can meet current and former Colts players and snag a photo with the Lombardi Trophy from Super Bowl XLI.

INDIANAPOLIS — Current and former Indianapolis Colts players will be at Lucas Oil Stadium for the 24th annual Bleed Blue event

Versiti Blood Center of Indiana announced they hope to welcome more than 1,000 donors during the donation event on Friday, Dec. 15 from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., potentially saving up to 3,000 Hoosiers who need lifesaving blood. Donors will also have a shot to win different prizes.

Everyone who donates will get an exclusive, limited-edition Colts football featuring Colts center Ryan Kelly, along with being entered to win tickets and pre-game sideline passes to the upcoming Colts home game on Dec. 31 against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Donors can participate in various meet-and-greet opportunities with past and current Colts players, cheerleaders and team mascot Blue.

Former Colts linebacker Gary Brackett will be on site from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., current wide receiver Ashton Dulin will be there from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., and current Colts cornerback Dallis Flowers will be there from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Donors can also view and take photos with the iconic Lombardi Trophy from the Colts’ Super Bowl XLI win, take part in on-field experiences to kick a field goal or run the 40-yard dash, and take home a mini-Bundt cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes.

Free parking will be available onsite in the stadium's south lot.

The Colts Pro Shop at the stadium also will be open during the event for fans who would like to purchase holiday gifts.
