INDIANAPOLIS — Another restaurant on Mass Ave is closing its doors for good.
Mimi Blue Meatballs announced Wednesday the closure of its final location on Massachusetts Avenue in a post on social media. The announcement also mentioned an upcoming sale of the location.
"While we understand this news may come as a surprise, please know that it is with heavy hearts that we have made this decision," a statement posted by the owners on Facebook read. "It became a place where memories were made, friendships were forged, delicious meals were shared and, above all, a wonderful tribute to Mimi "Blue" Kosene, our matriach."
Earlier this month, the owners of Rooster's Kitchen, which was located on the same block of Mass Ave as Mimi Blue, announced they had closed their restaurant, effective Dec. 31.
The owners of Mimi Blue encouraged its patrons to continue supporting local businesses.
"We are immensely grateful to you for your support and privileged to have been a part of your lives. Thank you for being a part of ours," the statement read.
The announcement did not mention a final day of business.
The restaurant also announced that customers who had purchased gift cards after Oct. 1, 2023 could be reimbursed for the value of the card until March 30, 2024. Instructions for how to claim a reimbursement are included in the Facebook post.
