WESTFIELD, Ind. (WTHR) - People in the community are paying tribute to fallen IMPD Officer Jake Laird.
Laird was killed in the line of duty in 2004.
Dozens of people came to the 10th annual "Jake Laird Community Day" in Westfield to celebrate his life.
There was a K-9 demonstration, rock climbing wall, live music and fun activities for kids.
His parents sponsor the event, which promotes the "spirit of community."
The Laird family also set up a memorial fund in his name which helps local law enforcement agencies.
