INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - A morning crash between a car and an ambulance on the near north side sent four people, including the patient in the ambulance, to the hospital.

The ambulance was already going to Eskenazi Health with a patient in serious condition when it collided with a car in the intersection of 16th Street and College Avenue just after 9 a.m.

The woman driving the car pulled around a stopped IndyGo bus before hitting the ambulance, according to a post from the Indianapolis Fire Department's Twitter page.

Two people sustained slight injuries and were taken to the hospital. The firefighter driving the ambulance was also taken to the hospital to be checked out after taking a portable breath test that registered no alcohol.

Metro Police are still investigating the accident.
