90-year-old Greenfield woman killed in Anderson crash

ANDERSON, Ind. — Police in Anderson are investigating after a woman was killed in a three-car crash on New Year's Eve.

Around 6 p.m. on Dec. 31, Anderson Police Department officers responded to the crash at the intersection of East 9th Street and South Scatterfield Road, on the northeast side of town. 

A preliminary investigation indicated an SUV was traveling southbound before losing control and hitting two northbound cars, police said.

Multiple people were injured in the crash and taken to an Anderson hospital. One of the passengers in the SUV, identified by police as 90-year-old Bertha Greene, of Greenfield, later died at the hospital from her injuries.

The crash remains under investigation, and anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Anderson Police Sgt. Nick Durr at 765-648-6660.
