TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. — A 72-year-old woman was found dead Wednesday night in Tippecanoe County in a house that was on fire.
The Tippecanoe County Coroner's Office said it responded to the 9500 block of White Street in the town of Clarks Hill around 11:40 p.m. Feb. 7, for a report of a structure fire involving a death. Clarks Hill is roughly 15 miles southeast of Lafayette.
The coroner's office identified the person found dead as 72-year-old Cheryl Gallien, of Clarks Hill.
An autopsy is scheduled for the Tippecanoe County Coroner's Office.
The Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Department and Clarks Hill-Lauramie Volunteer Fire Department are continuing to investigate the incident.
