INDIANAPOLIS — Seven people were displaced after a fire at a home on Indianapolis' north side Thursday afternoon.
The fire was reported around 3:15 p.m. Nov. 21 at a house in the 7500 block of Grandview Drive, near Westlane and Ditch roads.
The occupants of the home made it out without injury before fire crews arrived, but their dog died in the fire, the Indianapolis Fire Department said in a social media post.
IFD said the cause of the fire is "believed to be combustibles near a space heater in the back bedroom."
The family has lived in the home for almost two decades and will stay with family, IFD said.
No firefighters were injured.
