56-year-old pedestrian killed in Anderson crash

ANDERSON, Ind. — Anderson police are investigating after a pedestrian was killed in a crash Monday evening. 

The crash was reported around 8:45 p.m. Nov. 18 near the intersection of Madison Avenue and West 53rd Street.

The pedestrian, identified by an Anderson Police Department spokesperson as 56-year-old Victor Manuel Mateo Perez, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The spokesperson said a preliminary investigation indicated Perez was walking near the intersection when he was hit by a car traveling eastbound on 53rd Street. The driver of that car remained at the scene and "fully cooperated with the investigation," police said.
