INDIANAPOLIS — Four people were displaced, one with minor injuries, after a house fire on Indianapolis' near east side Thursday morning.
Shortly before 10 a.m. Feb. 8, firefighters responded to the home in the 400 block of Jefferson Avenue, just south of East Michigan Street and about a half-mile west of North Rural Street, for multiple reports of the fire.
Crews found heavy smoke and flames coming from the home, and worked for roughly 40 minutes to bring the fire under control, the Indianapolis Fire Department said. All occupants of the home made it out before crews arrived.
One of the those who had been inside suffered a slight injury, IFD said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
