WESTFIELD, Ind. — A $27 million multi-use development is planned for downtown Westfield, the city announced Tuesday.
Ambrose on Main would be located at the northeast corner of State Road 32/Main Street and East Street and feature "modern amenities such as plaza and courtyard areas spanning 6,000 square feet, a 2,000 square foot rooftop patio and over 12,000 square feet of new commercial space," the city said in a statement.
The project, developed by Rebar Development, would also include a restaurant with outdoor seating, as well as nearly 90 one- and-two-bedroom apartments with a lounge, cafe, fitness center and pet spa.
"Ambrose on Main will be a key gateway on downtown's east side and provide more opportunities for people to live near our downtown core," Westfield Mayor Scott Willis said in a statement.
The project was presented to the city's redevelopment commission Sept. 16 and will be presented to the city council in November.
“Ambrose on Main aligns perfectly with our goal to develop high-quality mixed-use projects where people can enjoy living, working and visiting,” said Shelby Bowen, founder and partner at Rebar Development.
The city says the intersection of State Road 32 and East Street will be converted into a roundabout.
Construction is anticipated to begin in February 2025, with a scheduled completion in July 2026.
