GREENE COUNTY, Ind. — A 24-year-old is dead after a crash in Greene County Saturday night.

The Greene County Sheriff's Department was notified of a two-vehicle crash on South County Road 800 West, north of County Road 300 South just before 11:30 p.m.

Police said a Dodge Ram was pulling out of an access road and turning left on S CR 800 W when the driver noticed a motorcycle heading south towards them at a high rate of speed. Officers said the driver's view was partially blocked by high vegetation, and they didn't see the oncoming motorcycle.

The driver stopped and tried to back up, but ended up colliding with the motorcycle. The motorcyclist, 24-year-old Maverick Johnson, of Lyons, Indiana, lost control and was ejected.

The driver of the Dodge Ram was not injured during the accident. Johnson unfortunately died at the scene.

The Greene County Sheriff's Office and the Indiana State Police are investigating the crash.
