2 injured in condo fire on Indianapolis' west side

The fire was reported around 10:30 p.m. Sunday at the Country Village condominiums near Crawfordsville Road and Dandy Trail.

INDIANAPOLIS — Two people were injured in a condo fire on the west side of Indianapolis late Sunday.

The fire was reported around 10:30 p.m. Oct. 27 at the Country Village condominiums in the 3100 block of Stillmeadow Drive, near Crawfordsville Road and Dandy Trail. 

Video posted by the Wayne Township Fire Department showed heavy smoke coming from a building as firefighters made their way inside.

The department said it took roughly 30 minutes for crews from Wayne and Pike townships and Speedway to bring the fire under control, and two civilians were injured. One was taken to a local hospital and the other was treated and released at the scene. 

The condition of the person hospitalized has not been disclosed.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

10:28 PM- Wayne Township Fire Department, assisted by Pike Township and Speedway Fire Departments, responded to a condominium fire in the 3100 block of Stillmeadow Drive in the Country Village condominiums on the west side of Indianapolis. It took a little over 30 minutes to bring the fire under control. Two civilians were injured in the incident, with one being transported to an area hospital and one being treated and released on the scene. The fire is currently under investigation,
