19-year-old seriously injured in Anderson crash, brought to Indianapolis hospital

ANDERSON, Ind. — Police in Anderson are investigating a two-car crash that seriously injured a 19-year-old early Sunday.

The crash between an SUV and pickup truck happened around 2:30 a.m. Jan. 7 in the 1800 block of West 53rd Street, west of Ridge Road on the south side of Anderson. 

According to the Anderson Police Department, the SUV, driven by a 19-year-old man, was traveling westbound when the driver lost control, swerved into the eastbound lane, and crashed into the truck.

The 19-year-old "suffered severe injury and was ultimately transported to an Indianapolis hospital for treatment," police said.

Police did not say if anyone in the pickup truck was injured and said more information would be released at a later time.

The Anderson Police Department Crash Team is assisting in the investigation.
