BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — A 14-year-old was injured in a shooting in Bloomington Friday morning after he allegedly agreed to meet for a fight.
On March 15 just before 6 a.m., Bloomington Police Department officers responded to the 2300 block of South Rogers Street, near Rockport Road and West Country Club Drive, on reports of multiple shots fired and yelling.
When officers arrived, a neighbor told them a 14-year-old who had been shot was inside of their home. The teenager was then taken to a local hospital with two non-life threatening gunshot wounds.
Investigators learned the victim and another juvenile had agreed to meet each other to fight. Then, several juveniles met up at the scene and began arguing. During the argument, one of them pulled out a handgun and began to fire. The victim was reportedly struck by gunfire while he was trying to run away.
This is an ongoing investigation.
