IDAVILLE, Ind. — One woman is dead after a house fire in Carroll County Tuesday afternoon.
The sheriff’s department said they received a call of a house fire in the 4000 block of 1100 North, near Idaville, around 5 p.m. Dec. 12.
Deputies arrived before the fire department but were unable to enter the house due to heavy smoke. Once firefighters got in the home, they found a woman unresponsive and unconscious.
The Carroll County coroner later pronounced the woman dead at the scene.
The cause of the fire is currently not known, but it is believed to be accidental.
The Carroll County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the name of the woman found in the home.
Idaville is roughly 90 miles northwest of downtown Indianapolis.
