INDIANAPOLIS — An investigation is underway after a fire caused damage to an apartment complex on Indianapolis' near north side Saturday night.
The fire was reported shortly after 8 p.m. Oct. 12 in the 1600 block of Mondrian Place, near East 16th Street and North Park Avenue.
IFD said there were multiple calls to emergency personnel that reported the sound of an "explosion," so residents evacuated the building.
Fire crews arrived on scene and found a fire on the third floor and, upon entry, found fire in an HVAC system inside the apartment. IFD said the fire was marked under control in 15 minutes.
There is one person displaced, but no one was injured.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
