38-year-old pedestrian killed in crash on Indy's south side

The crash happened Saturday shortly after 9 p.m. at the intersection of Woodhill Drive and South East Street, near Edgewood Avenue.

INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD is investigating a fatal crash that happened on Indy's south side Saturday night.

According to a release from IMPD, shortly after 9 p.m. on March 9, officers responded to the intersection of Woodhill Drive and South East Street (US 31), near Edgewood Avenue, on a report of a person down in the roadway. 

IMPD Commander Matthew Thomas said an initial investigation revealed two vehicles and a pedestrian were involved in the crash. 

Medics attempted to treat the pedestrian at the scene, but the he was later pronounced dead. The Marion County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 38-year-old Kevin G. Dias.

All people involved in the crash stayed on scene and cooperated with the investigation, according to IMPD.
