KOKOMO, Ind. — One person is dead after a shooting in Kokomo Thursday night.
Police said they responded to 319 West Markland on a report of a person shot around 7:30 p.m.
Officers arrived to find 37-year-old Henry Clayton suffering from a gun shot wound. Detectives said another man was showing the gun to Clayton inside the residence when the shooting happened.
At some point during the interaction, believing the handgun was empty, police said the man allegedly pointed the handgun at Clayton and pulled the trigger.
Medics transported Clayton to a local hospital and later to Eskanazi Hospital in Indianapolis where he died.
