SHELBY COUNTY, Ind. — Police in Shelby County are investigating after one person was killed and another injured in a single-car crash on Interstate 74 early Tuesday.
The crash happened shortly after 6:30 a.m. Feb. 20 along I-74 westbound near the 121 mile-marker. That's about seven miles southeast of Shelbyville.
The passenger in the car was pronounced dead at the scene, and the driver was transported to Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis, the Shelby County Sheriff's Office said. The severity of the driver's injuries was not released.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
The Shelby County Coroner's Office will identify the person killed once family has been notified.
