Kris Kirschner

Now entering her 25th year in broadcasting, Kris Kirschner is an award-winning reporter/anchor who grew up in Indianapolis and is proud to still call it home.
At WTHR since 1997, she's covered a variety of stories from sports (the Olympics, Butler's run at the Final Four, the playoff riots in Los Angeles) to disaster coverage to stories highlighting the human spirit.
Kris has covered state and local government as well the South Beat. She also emcees events around central Indiana.
Her work has earned her recognition from the Associated Press, the Society of Professional Journalists, and several Emmy nominations for both reporting and anchoring.
Kris is an active volunteer in the community.
But the productions she's most proud of are her two children. Kris, her husband, David, and their son and daughter live on the south side.
