INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - Riley Hospital for Children announced Tuesday morning that they have been ranked in the U.S. News and World Report's Best Children's Hospitals ranking.
They rank hospitals in ten different pediatric specialties. Riley was one of 24 children's hospitals ranked in all ten of those specialties. Those specialities are cancer treatment, cardiology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, neonatology, nephrology, neurology, orthopedics, pulmonology, and urology.
Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health is Indiana’s clear leader in children’s health care,” said Matthew Cook, president of Riley at IU Health in a statement. “Families will not find a better team of highly-skilled clinicians who provide more compassionate, patient-centered care combined with the most advanced treatment options available. We walk beside families at every turn.”
Riley says that data for the rankings was gathered via questionnaires sent to hospitals that surveyed over 11,00 specialists. Roughly 80% of each hospital's score came from patient outcomes.
