GREENWOOD, Ind. (WTHR) — A colossal, walk-through model of a human heart will be on display inside Greenwood Park Mall Monday.
MEGA Heart is an inflatable exhibit 21 feet long and 12 feet high. Visitors enter the heart through the largest vein that feeds the heart (superior vena cava) and exit through the largest artery (aorta) that leaves the organ.
Once inside the display, visitors learn about cardiovascular functions and various types of heart disease. The exterior explains medical treatments for heart attack and coronary bypass grafts and stents.
The interactive display is part of Franciscan Health Heart Center’s promotion of cardiovascular health awareness during February for American Heart Month.
The display will be located at the Franciscan Health Rejuvenation Station, near the food court and main entrance to the former Sears store. It opens at 3 p.m. and closes when the mall closes at 10 p.m.
