INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — Health expert Kim Goletz has been offering tips to keep our immune system in good shape to help fight any illnesses during this public health emergency.
Goletz recommended eating foods high in micronutrients, getting enough sleep and managing stress to keep immunity high.
The last piece of the puzzle is exercise, which is important not just for boosting your immune system but also for overall health.
"Exercising regularly can also improve your mood," Goletz said. "It can improve your sleep, and it gives you that sense of accomplishment of you doing something good for yourself."
She said you don't need to go crazy with the exercise, which is a common misconception.
"A lot of people think you need to exercise all the time to be healthy," she said. "When in fact your nutrition is more important than exercise. But exercise is important to your overall health and maintaining a healthy weight."
Goletz is the founder and CEO of Refine You, an online health resource for total mind and body transformations. Refine You offers videos, coaching and tips for overall health.
Goletz shared some easy bodyweight workouts on video that you can do at home.
Goletz recommends doing each exercise 10 times twice.
