Former Colts player giving back by helping those with traumatic brain injuries

There are 130,000 people in Indiana alone impacted by traumatic brain injuries.

WESTFIELD, Ind. — For seven years, Hamilton Southeastern grad Joe Reitz proudly wore the Colts uniform.

Winning was fun, but now he's joined a team on a much bigger mission.

Their goal, to build a community in Westfield to help those facing traumatic brain injuries.

Reitz and his wife have six children and two more on the way. They feel blessed and felt a call to give back.

There are 130,000 people in Indiana alone impacted by traumatic brain injuries, and the Reitz family believes they deserve the best care.

"This is something that will be generational and multi-generational. And again, there's gonna be these all over the country – I'm confident of it. It's just very cool that the very first one – again the land's already purchased and the plans and drawings for the community to be built – and it's gonna be in Westfield," Reitz said.
