INDIANAPOLIS — If you get squeamish at the thought of donating your blood, perhaps a free package of Girl Scout Cookies can tempt you!

On Thursday, Feb. 29 and Thursday, March 7, Versiti Blood Center of Indiana and the Girl Scouts of Central Indiana are partnering to thank donors.

All attempting donors at Versiti’s Indiana donor centers will receive a package of Thin Mints cookies in an event unofficially known as "Thin Mint Thursday."

"We take great pride in supporting initiatives that benefit our community," Danielle Shockey, CEO of Girl Scouts of Central Indiana, said in a statement. "Whether it's through programs like Cookies for a Cause or events like the Thin Mint Thursdays, giving back is ingrained in the Girl Scout ethos. Girl Scout cookies and community service are integral to our identity, and we are happy to support Versiti’s life-saving mission.”
