Greenwood, Feb. 14 - Undercover detectives believe they've shut down prostitution at the Chinese Physical Therapy shop. It's located on Mount Pleasant Drive in Johnson County.
Indianapolis Police detectives posed as massage customers.
Johnson County Sheriff Terry McLaughlin explains, "Two officers went in to pay for a massage and it turned out to be more than just a typical massage."
According to the probable cause written by investigators, at least two women working at the newly opened establishment accepted offers of at least $70 in exchange for sex acts.
Hearing Aid Therapist Theresa McCormick works next door. She has no doubt the therapy shop would have eventually had an impact on business. "It can hurt the businesses around here. I am sure if they take care of the situation it might not hurt our business."
After Rongrong Chen crossed the line with the undercover detective Johnson County deputies arrested the 38-year-old for prostitution.
Officer also arrested Yingai Sun on the same charge for also supposedly taking physical therapy too far.
Although at home at their west Marion County apartment, they did not answer the door.
The doors at their business remain closed for now too.
The sheriff says what was going on behind the doors of the massage shop is probably the tip of the iceberg. In fact, the sheriff suspects one of the reasons they opened there was because Marion County and IPD aggressively go after phony therapy shops.
"Johnson County doesn't have an ordinance that deals with this type of establishment," says Sheriff McLaughlin. But the sheriff already has plans to change that to keep other fake massage shops out of Johnson County.
