Batman fans got their first glimpse Thursday of the newest Dark Knight.
Director Matt Reeves released a video showing Robert Pattinson in the sleek new Batman suit. The minute-long video only features about 35 seconds of Pattinson, cast in dark red shadows.
Pattinson told Variety last year he had the character "in my mind for a while" and that putting the suit on made him "feel very powerful immediately." But he also noted that the act of transforming into the character in the tight black suit "is pretty humiliating."
"Youâve got five people trying to shove you into something. Once youâve got it on, itâs like, âYeah, I feel strong, I feel tough, even though I had to have someone squeezing my butt cheeks into the legs'," he said.
Reaction to the suit on social media was mixed.
"The Batman" is scheduled to premiere on June 25, 2021 and also features Zoe Kravitz and Colin Farrell.
