(WTHR) – Taylor Swift ended off her final performance in Chicago with a powerful speech for the LGBT community over the weekend.

Swift was standing on the stage in a rainbow colored dress when she gave her moving speech in support of Pride Month.

“It’s very brave to be vulnerable about your feelings in any situation, but it’s even more brave to be honest about your feelings and who you love when you know that it might be met with adversity from society,” Swift said, according to video posted on social media.

The comments came just before the singer’s performance of “Delicate".

The speech earned loud applause from fans and plenty more praise on social media, with many thanking Swift for the powerful words.

Swift recently won the award for Top Female Artist at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards.
