(NBC News) - Starbucks' holiday beverages return to U.S. Starbucks stores Tuesday, but they won't be served in red cups this year.
Instead, the cups are green.
Social media stirred controversy last year when the company debuted plain red holiday cups, void of what the company called the "symbols of the season"
This year's design features one continuous stroke connecting more than 100 people on the cup.
Starbucks says the cups were created to be a symbol of unity, celebrate community, and encourage us to be good to each other.
