INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - There will be two major concerts in Indianapolis on Carb Day next year.
While the Indianapolis Motor Speedway has yet to announce the headlining act for the annual Carb Day concert at the track, music icon Neil Diamond will be in town as part of his upcoming world tour, announced Wednesday.

Diamond will perform at Bankers Life Fieldhouse at 8 p.m. Friday, May 26, hours after IMS rocks with Indianapolis 500 practice and a concert in the infield. Tickets for Diamond's show - which is not affiliated with the festivities at IMS, it should be noted - will go on sale December 5 for American Express cardholders and December 9 for the general public.

The tour marks Diamond's 50th year as a performer. It opens April 7 in Fresno, California and includes stops in St. Louis, Louisville, Chicago, Detroit and Cleveland, as well.

While IMS announced last year's Carb Day act in late November, the announcement is traditionally made in March.
