DYERSVILLE, Iowa (NBC News) - Baseball fans and movie buffs will soon be able to tour the home where the 1989 movie "Field of Dreams" was filmed.

When you walk inside the home, it's like you're stepping into world of the Academy Award-nominated movie.

The "Field of Dreams" home has been restored to look just like it did for the film.

Thousands of people from across the country have visited the set each year, but the house has always been off limits.

Visitors can now check out the kitchen, the living room and baseball artifacts scattered around the first floor.

"We are so thrilled to be able to now open the house for the very first time in the history of the 'Field of Dreams' movie site to the public," said Denise Stillman with Go the Distance Baseball. "We did reset the kitchen so it looks very much like it is in the movie. In fact, that Kelvinator stove is in the movie and does work and function as the stove for the home."

"I love the movie and I'm a huge baseball fan and I've always wanted to come here," said Marie Graney from Wilmington, Delaware.

Tours of the home are set to begin Nov. 1.

Only the first floor will be open to the public. Someone lives on the second floor.
