'House of 1000 Corpses' actor Sid Haig dead at 80

Famed horror movie actor Sid Haig has died at age 80.

(WTHR) — Famed horror movie actor Sid Haig has died at age 80.

His wife posted from his Instagram account Monday, saying the actor passed Saturday.

"The other half of my soul, Sidney, passed from this realm on the the next," she said in the caption of a photo of the couple holding hands. "He has returned to the Universe, a shining star in her heavens."

Haig's wife said his death came as a shock to everyone.

On Saturday, September 21, 2019, my light, my heart, my true love, my King, the other half of my soul, Sidney, passed from this realm on to the next. He has returned to the Universe, a shining star in her heavens. He was my angel, my husband, my best friend and always will be. He adored his family, his friends and his fans. Haig is best known for his role in the 2003 Rob Zombie film "House of 1000 Corpses."

Haig's wife asked for privacy and time to mourn in the Instagram post about his death.
