NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTHR) — Tom Lester, famously known for his role as Eb Dawson in "Green Acres," died Monday of complications from Parkinson's disease.
Michael Lester, the actor's brother, shared Tom's obituary on the Fan of Tom Lester (Eb Dawson of Green Acres) Facebook page.
According to the obituary, Tom died at 81 years old in the Nashville, Tennessee, home of his fiancée and long term caregiver, Jackie Peters.
"Green Acres" starred Eddie Albert and Eva Gabor as a couple who moved from New York City to small-town farm. Eb Dawson became the farmhand for the couple and regularly addressed them as "mom" and "dad."
According to IMDB, Tom appeared in 150 of the sitcom's 170 episodes from 1965 to 1971.
Tom also appeared in the feature films, "Benji" and "Gordy."
Family and close friends will attend a graveside service at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Laurel, Mississippi, on Friday, April 24 at noon. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
