Ball State alum saved in 'The Voice' Battle Rounds

Former Ball State soccer player Lauren Hall is still alive on "The Voice" after a save during Monday's Battle Rounds.

LOS ANGELES (WTHR) - Former Ball State soccer player Lauren Hall is still alive on "The Voice" after a save during Monday's Battle Rounds.

Lauren Hall sang in the Battle Rounds for Team Kelly against Hello Sunday. Kelly Clarkson was the only judge to turn around for Hall during her blind audition which aired October 7.

Though she was the only judge to turn, Clarkson hit her button just seconds into Hall's performance of "One and Only."

But after performing the Miley Cyrus hit "Wrecking Ball" with the duo from Atlanta, Clarkson picked Hello Sunday to continue on her team, leaving Hall facing elimination.

"I will help you. I believe in you so much," Clarkson said as Hall began to exit the stage.

But seconds later, she had new life when Blake Shelton "stole" Hall, adding her to his team. She will advance to the Knockout Rounds, performing next Monday or Tuesday night.

"I can't tell you how much it means for you to steal me. I've been going for this for so long, I really appreciate you giving me a second chance," Hall said.

"She is going to be a threat. No doubt about it, the winner is on my team," Shelton said in a post-show interview.

Hall, a native of the Chicago area who now lives in West Hollywood, played on the Ball State women's soccer team from 2013-2015 after transferring from the University of Arkansas.

The university's athletic department tweeted a note of congratulations after her audition show:

Monday, some of her former teammates shared video wishes in a tweet from the soccer team's account:

Hall is the second performer on this season of "The Voice" with a connection to central Indiana. Kyndal Inskeep, a Heritage Christian graduate who now lives in Nashville, won her Battle Round last week and will sing in the Knockout Round Tuesday night (October 29).

"The Voice" airs Monday and Tuesday nights at 8 on Channel 13. Taylor Swift joins the show this week as a "Mega Mentor."
