Indianapolis Public Schools to receive $1 million grant from Salesforce

The district said the funds will go toward its "efforts to provide students with immersive, post-secondary readiness experiences."

INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis Public Schools will receive $1 million over the next two years, thanks to a grant from Salesforce.

The cloud-based software company on Sept. 16 announced $23 million in new grants to U.S. school districts – including IPS – and global nonprofits.

IPS said in a statement the funds will go toward "the district's efforts to provide students with immersive, post-secondary readiness experiences," including college tours, career awareness programs and summer transition workshops for thousands of students.

“These opportunities can be game-changers, especially for students who might be the first in their families to consider college," Stephannie Bailey, CEO of the Indianapolis Public Schools Foundation, said in a statement.

Salesforce has partnered with IPS for seven years, the district said.

"Salesforce's commitment to Indianapolis Public Schools goes beyond just funding," Bailey said. "For seven years, they've been true partners in our mission to prepare every student for success after graduation. This continued support is a testament to their belief in our students and our community."
