INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana State Police is investigating after a stray bullet struck a woman riding in the passenger seat along Interstate 465 on the city's northeast side.
According to a release from ISP, around 10:15 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25, a black Toyota minivan was traveling northbound on I-465, near Pendleton Pike, when a bullet came through the windshield and struck the female passenger in the face.
The woman was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police. Investigators say they do not believe the victim was involved in any type of road rage, nor were there any incidents of road rage around them at the time of the shooting. A bullet was recovered from inside the Toyota minivan and is being examined by state police investigators.
