Woman charged with murder in deadly Franklin shooting

Deputies responded to a report of a person shot Feb. 5 around 11:45 a.m. in the 3000 block of North County Road 625 East.

FRANKLIN, Ind. — A 33-year-old woman is now facing a murder charge in the deadly shooting of a man in Franklin Feb. 5.

Alicia Marie Haupt is also charged with pointing a firearm.

She's accused in the deadly shooting of 35-year-old Jacob Pascal Harville in the 3000 block of North County Road 625 East.

According to court documents, when officers stopped Haupt, she told them, “It’s not my truck, it’s the man who I shot in the face’s truck.”

She then allegedly said the man she shot was Satan, that officers call her Jesus and that she killed Satan before he could kill us all. Haupt said she was in fear for her life.

Haupt allegedly told investigators she took Harville's truck because her brakes were out and she didn't want anyone else to get hurt.

According to police, Haupt reiterated her claims in a police interview days after the killing.

Anyone with additional information on the incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-8477.
