INDIANAPOLIS — The U.S. Marshals Service has arrested a man charged with murdering a woman in Indianapolis in 2023.
Around 7:30 a.m. on July 22, 2023, officers responded to a report of a person shot inside a home in the 8600 block of Orchard Grove Lane, near Central Park in Camby on the south side.
Officers arrived and found 36-year-old Erica Pedroza with gunshot wounds. Medics pronounced her dead at the scene.
Another resident of the home told police they found Pedroza and was speaking with detectives, who applied for search warrants for the home, an IMPD spokesperson told 13News.
Police at the time found no evidence that anyone had broken into the home. Police did not reveal the relationship between Pedroza and the other resident.
On Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2024, the Marion County Prosecutor's Office filed murder charges against Pedroza's husband, 35-year-old Seth Smith-Robinson.
The U.S. Marshals Task Force worked with the IMPD Violent Crimes Unit to find Smith-Robinson in Tennessee and arrested him Tuesday, Nov. 19. He will be extradited back to Marion County and booked for Pedroza's murder.
He is currently being held in the Davidson County jail in Nashville, Tennessee.
